I wanted to be an actress and then a teacher, so I’m not sure it really did! But maybe the teacher part is what leads me to be so enthusiastic about getting younger people into science and chemistry!

Hi Sophie! Yes, I discovered quite young what job I wanted to do and I contacted laboratories where people were doing that job. I am very thankful to the person who explained to me that I should first study the chemistry so I could then apply it to archaeological objects. Later, I realised that he was totally right. It was easier for me to learn about archaeology than for my colleagues archaeologists to learn the chemistry. Do you know which job you want to do in the future?

When I was very young I wanted to be a dog, then a dinosaur and then Wendy from Peter Pan. Once I realised that wasn’t possible, I wanted to be a paleontologist, then a vet, then a medical doctor, then an actress. Most of the jobs I wanted to do were pretty science heavy, so I think so 🙂 I’ve always been interested in how things work
