My love of science came mostly from my family and teachers, rather than from famous scientists. However there were scientists that I thought were very cool.
Marie Curie won two Nobel Prizes, and discovered radioactivity which let us build machines to take X-rays like the ones you might have if you break your arm.
Katherine Johnson is an American mathematician who’s work at NASA was crucial to the apollo moon landing mission.
I also found people like David Attenborough and other people on TV very inspiring because they are so passionate about science and nature.

My interest in Chemistry came from my 6th form teacher. Although he was a little stale, he really explained things in a clear and exciting way where you could take an idea and go off any explore it on your own. He was also very keen to get us all doing practical chemistry where we would learn about a topic (titrations for example) and then we would go into the lab and perform the same experiment to compare our results.

There was nothing better than seeing things happen and change right before your eyes and that is what inspired me to become a Chemist and make new things every day.

hmm.. I don’t know that there were actually! At least not directly – my love of science comes from an enjoyment of experimentation and of learning rather than from a desire to be like someone I admire.

Pierre & Marie Curie are the two scientists who inspired me to study sciences. I even studied at a university in Paris called after them! You can find more info about them here is you want:
