Climate change is a global emergency which theatens life as we know it on earth. It is not enough to cut our CO2 emissions, we need to also be removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Science will play a massive part in this by making processes more environementally friendly and developing green technologies however politics must also start to seriously address this issue if we are to stand a chance in protecting the planet.
Personally, I try to eat sustainably (cutting out meat and eating low carbon footprint foods) and choose low carbon emitting modes of transport. I hope that my future research will also address problems associated with climate change.

I think everyone has to be mindful to help stop climate change. Even if that simply means recycling 1 more object a day, if everyone did that it would make a whole world of difference. Science is working on helping the problem but it cannot be relied upon solely.
Some of the work we are doing is looking at Hydrogen as a fuel source which when burned, only produces water.

I think we need to put more pressure on big companies to change the way they deal with their emissions. A lot of the pressure is put into people to recycle and drive less, but the huge bulk of the harmful greenhouse emissions are coming from these big companies, who don’t have nearly as much pressure on them.

However in the meantime it is still worth us taking steps to reduce our own carbon footprint! So don’t get complacent there!
