• Question: what is your favourite metal on the periodic table ?

      For usefulness I’d say Iron, but for coolness I’d say Cobalt because it has some really pretty crystals!

      Probably Iron – there is so much of it on earth that biology has found some cool uses for it, like transporting oxygen around the body. Some bacteria make nanoparticles of iron which means they can align themselves with magnetic fields.. and we can control them with magnets!

      Copper! It’s incredibly useful in day to day life due to its conductivity and malleability, and is also used as a catalyst in chemical reactions. It can be a range of colours, depending on what it’s bound with. But in its pure state it is the same colour as my hair!
