• Question: what would happen if you added francium to water

      It’s too dangerous to really do in a lab but I’d imagine there’s be a pretty huge explosion!

      Aimee’s video will give you all the answers you need. Francium has to be stored under oil to prevent it from reacting in air.

      Francium would blow apart, while the reaction with water would produce hydrogen gas, francium hydroxide, and a lot of heat. The entire area would be contaminated with radioactive material.
      Not sure this is something I want to try… And you?
