The challenges come all the time, it’s fairly common that as chemists we’ll spend weeks or months trying to figure out a solution to a problem. So one of the best moments, for me, is when I finally get something to work out the way I wanted it to!!

I love that as a scientist you are learning and discovering the secrets of the universe! As Aimee said, there are always challenges, especially in research because you’re pushing the boundaries of knowledge so you’re often doing things that no one has ever done before. When you finally work it out it is SO satisfying though!

I love how varied my work is – every day is different! At the moment I am learning how to study my chemicals by crystallography to help me identify what I have made. It involves looking at lots of pretty crystals haha

Research is always challenging. Often things don’t work the first time you try them which can be really annoying! One time I worked on a project for 6 months before I got anything to work.. it was a long 6 months!
