I would say Brian Cox since he explains very complicated ideas into quite basic language and makes it accessible for people to understand.

David Attenborough is a close second – he is making people very aware of the issues we are causing to the planet. He isn’t just doing it by telling us, he is showing our impact when he is monitoring animals where they live and making people change

Hi Daisy, it is very difficult to choose only one. There is almost one I can name for each speciality of scienceā€¦ Maybe Albert Einstein is the one I would select. He changed totally the field of physics!
If you come to the science museum in Oxford, you can see a black board where he wrote some equations during one of his lectures in Oxford. The university decided to keep the board, never clean it and never use it again!

I would say that Prof John Goodenough and the team of scientist that worked with him to produce the lithium ion battery have had a huge impact on today’s society. This technology forms the basis of a large part of today’s society – these batteries can be found everywhere such as in your mobile phone.

Oh I’m really not sure I can pick one – the thing with science is that every scientist is building on the knowledge and findings of another, so to say there is one important scientist just can’t be a real answer!
