Hey! I quite like Periodic Tales by Hugh Aldersey-Williams for light science! But we have a lot of reference books at work which are hugely helpful to our work such as Bretherick’s Handbook!

Stuff Matters by Mark Miodownik – it talks about the science behind everyday stuff like chocolate and concrete which is fascinating!

Periodic Tales is a great book! I also like the Compound Science book which is more of a coffee table book, but has really interesting facts about thinkgs like why asparagus makes your wee smell, or why nutmeg is a hallucinogen. It’s called ‘Why Does Asparagus Make Your Wee Smell”
