• Question: If you lived in the 1920's what would you do?

      I definitely would not want to be a chemist! It was incredibly dangerous back then! I’d like to think I would be able to invent some modern things using what knowledge I have though.

      Educational opportunities for women were considerably more restricted for women in 1920. Lots of people left education much earlier and until 1920 (I think) women could not graduate from Oxford. Maybe I wouldn’t have been able to be a scientist.. I have no idea what I would be doing.

      In the 20s I’d have been much less likely to be employed (as I am a woman) and if I was it most definitely would not have been in science!

      That said I do love the Flapper/Fringe dresses so maybe I’d have become a dancer!
