My favourite compound is ferrocene (all my students think I am obsessed….). I worked with this compound for four years.

It is really unusual because it is a metal ion ‘sandwiched’ between two carbon rings. We actually call this kind of thing a sandwich complex.

It would have to be one of the compounds I made! I don’t think it has a name but it’s an iron compound that has a molecule of N2 bound to it!

Looking at Georgia’s answer I actually really like ferrocene as well! I use some chemicals that are derived from ferrocene in my research.

I don’t work with Ferrocene as much as Gerogia and Harry so I’m afraid I’ll need to rule that one out!

I am pretty fond of C8H10N4O2 – Caffeine. But not for science reasons!

I like penguinone. It is called like that because the molecule looks like a penguin. The molecule is also called 3,4,4,5-tetramethylcyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-one, but it’s less fun!
